Started by a Mouse is a story about an ambitious and curious young girl who, in the wake of her father's death, is driven to do something spectacular. One day after school she finds her mother's old video camera and decides to film everything she sees. As she makes her way through the downtown, she comes upon a festival worker who informs her that the local film festival begins later that evening. She quickly heads to the local street fair, video camera in hand, and is determined to make the best film she possibly can. She then persuades her mother to take her to the festival that night with the plan to get her film into the festival...
